I began my studies in Civil Engineering, quickly realizing that it was not the correct career for myself. I ended up switching majors to Graphic Design where I felt I could utilize my artistic talents better. After graduating it was hard to find a job in that career. Most jobs required some knowledge of HTML and CSS in addition to graphic design.

I took on a part-time job at a small but established web firm in the hopes to learn the skills I needed. Since the first time I began to code I fell in love with it. My mentor/boss was amazing, taught me everything I needed to become successful as a web developer. Being a part of a small web firm, it allowed me to take on many hats. My boss taught me Marketing, SEO & SEM, coding, photography, videography and more.

The rest is self taught, such as using API’s, different CMS’s including headless ones, server-side languages like PHP, SSL, etc. The best things about being a web developer is solving problems and always learning new things.
